Oh Black Friday…it makes for so many great stories and slightly horrifying news stories when people get a little too into getting that great deal and decide to act like a herd of wild buffaloes. I remember getting up at 5 am with my mom on Black Friday to get to the stores by 6 am a making a girls day of it. Now with stores opening on Thanksgiving Day, it takes some of the fun out of getting up early, putting on coats, and piling in the minivan with some hot coffee to snag that great deal.
Black Friday is traditionally the day I will decorate the house for Christmas since I have a pact with my husband that I won’t decorate before then since we keep our tree up until after New Year’s so I won’t be doing as much shopping this year but I wanted to share some of the things I have my eye on.
I will generally shop online on Thanksgiving evening while eating my second (or third) plate of ham and mashed potatoes with a fun Christmas movie on in the background. Lots of sales start around 5pm or 6pm Thursday night so you don’t have to brave the crowds and can enjoy the sales from the comfort of your couch. If there is a specific item that is only in stores, I make a list and try to stick to it so I can get in and out of the shops. I’m not a big fan of crowds so the more efficient I can be, the better.

Beauty Gift Sets
Black Friday is a great time to snag a few gift sets for all the beauty lovers in your life, or for yourself! I love to try new things, but taking a risk and buying a full size just isn’t worth it, which is one of the reasons I love the holidays. There are so many gift sets from hair, to skincare, to makeup that have lots of trial or travel size products to try.
Winter Coats
Winter coats can be very expensive, especially good quality ones, so Black Friday can be a great time to snag a gorgeous coat at a great discount. I generally try to go to the store to try on the coat I’m looking at so I make sure to get the right size on Black Friday since sizes tend to sell out. And with most stores promoting upwards of 50% off their entire store, you can definitely find a great deal on a new winter coat.
Kitchen Gadgets
I can’t believe some of the deals they have on kitchen electronics on Black Friday! The griddle I have now I purchased on a Black Friday sale over 5 years ago but it is time to replace it since it is about to fall apart. I’ve had my eye on this griddle with a warming pan, and thankfully it is on sale! I’ve never tried an air fryer, but for $50, it’ s worth trying! And you can’t ever go wrong with an amazing coffee maker either as a gift for that caffeine addict in your life or for your own home.
