I haven’t always been a fan of sangria, but I’m starting to come around. Maybe I started off on the wrong foot with a too-sweet sangria with orange juice in it from college (yuck!). But as I have gotten older, I have learned that sangria can be DELICIOUS and is a great gathering make-ahead drink that is a crowd pleaser.
For this week’s happy hour, I am showing you over on my Instagram how to make an Independence Day theme red, blue and white sangria. I love how easy this is to throw together in a big batch and have in a big pitcher for your guests to help themselves to. The raspberry and pear flavors meld well together with the crisp pinot grigio wine. I like to add just a bit of sparking water to the mix to give it a little fizz just for fun.
I hope this gives you an idea of what to serve at your next summer gathering! Check out my other happy hour Friday recipes here!
