Shopping for your bestie can be more of a challenge than you think! You want something personal that reflects your friendship, but easy to find and not super time intensive. While a bottle of wine or their favorite alcohol of choice is always appreciated, I like to try to do something a little more personalized, especially for my friends who live out of state. Below are a few ideas for some gifts for that special friend who can always make you laugh and will listen to all your problems.
Cocktail Book
A fun cocktail book makes a great gift because it gives you something that you and your bestie can do together in trying out some fun new cocktails. I especially love the cheeky books with literary references or fun titles, especially since I have lots of literary friends who appreciate a good book pun. There are lots of different cocktail books out there, but I highlighted a few that are particularly fun and have lots of great recipes.
Homesick Candle
For your friend who may have moved away for work or for a spouse, a Homesick Candle can be a great way to help your friends feel more at home during the holidays. They have one for each of the 50 states and over 25 different cities to help you feel like you are back in your home state. I especially love the Wisconsin one (my home state) which is sad to smell like butter, cream, and cranberry. Now if only they could find a way to make a candle smell like cheese…
Coffee Table Book
A beautiful coffee table book is a lovely gift for friends, especially if you can find one about a topic they are interested in (cooking, fashion) or about a place they have been recently (Italy, Paris, ect). There are lots of placed to find gorgeous coffee table books, but I’ve had the best luck finding a wide variety at good prices at Anthropologie. They have books about travel, fashion, design, and so many other topics. Placed like Barnes and Noble also carry them. So find something that fits your bestie and give her the gift of décor and entertainment.
Blessing Box
Etsy is a great place to find cute, personalized gifts for the holidays, and I recently stumbled on these Blessing Boxes that are perfect for a bestie Christmas gift. There are lots of different designs and boxes with different items in them, and for only $44 with shipping included, they can be sent to friends living out of state. Just be sure to get them shipped in time!
Wine Tasting
If all else fails, a tickets to a great wine tasting event is a great gift for your wine loving friend. Wine stores like Total Wine have wine tastings nearly every week on topics from wine and food pairings to a master class on French wine. Get in touch with your local wineries too since they will have a schedule of their wine tastings too that will include some fun, local sips.
